Sundays: What to Expect

Each Sunday at 8:15am and 10:30am we come together to meet with the Living God, listen to Him speak to us, and respond to Him. We have a relaxed, enjoyable, and gracious atmosphere while maintaining a heart of worship and love for God. Sunday services consist of Bible teaching, worship music, and prayer. We also live stream both services for the benefit of those who are home-bound, traveling, or seeking a church home.

Bible Teaching

Our pastors teach from the Bible each week in a way that is interesting and motivating. They spend about 35 minutes bringing God’s message to us–verse by verse. For a sample, click here

Worship Music

Our music is contemporary with at least one familiar hymn (usually done in a contemporary way). We usually all stand together to sing, but no one is required to do so. Some people stand solemnly, some raise their hands or move a bit. The atmosphere is relaxed and our hope is that each of us will sincerely express thanks and praise to God.

Prayer

We pray together several times during each Sunday service. We also have a prayer request section of our connection cards that you can fill out to have them prayed for by the prayer team.

Nursery and Sunday School

We offer Sunday School and nursery for the 10:30am service. Here’s how it works:

1. Electronic check-in: Please stop by the check-in station for ALL kids (0 – 5th) before dropping off to classrooms. Parents, keep the printed security label!
2. Nursery is now divided into three parts: Babies and Crawlers, Wobblers and Walkers, and 3-4 year olds. Each room in the kids’ wing is labeled for your convenience. Kindergarten-1st grade will meet together in the glass room. 2nd-3rd grade will meet together in the Multi Purpose Room. 4th-5th grade meet in the classroom off the back wall of the Multipurpose Room. If you have questions please contact Carrie at carrie@rivershores.org.
3. After service, parents need to bring their security label to pick up kids aged 0 – 1st grade. 2nd -5th graders will be released to find parents after service.
