“True worshipers… worship the Father in spirit and truth… they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” — Jesus (John 4:23)
God is looking for true worshipers: people who recognize Him for who He is and worship with sincere, passionate hearts. True worship is a lifestyle. Romans 12:1-2 urges us, in view of God’s mercy, to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. God is far more concerned with how we live than with empty religious motions. He desires our hearts.
May Matthew 15:8-9 never describe us: “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain.” Our creative arts should flow sincerely from a real relationship with the Lord and genuine love for Him. In view of His mercy, we want to offer Him our best.
Our Seven Passions
- To be true worshipers ourselves (John 4:23; Romans 12:1-2)
- To help others truly worship God (Psalm 95)
- To saturate our artistic communication with God’s Word (Colossians 3:16)
- To be artistically excellent, creative, and diverse (Psalm 33:3; Psalm 96:1)
- To be sensitive to each other’s artistic preferences (Philippians 2:1-5)
- To be sensitive to the artistic preferences of those we are trying to reach (1 Corinthians 9:20-23)
- To be unified with one another and with the rest of the church (Ephesians 4:3; Romans 15:5)
